January 2026 Update: New IT Profiles and Practical Labs

2026-01-12

This update brings one of the most significant expansions in our platform’s history, combining new roles, richer content, and hands-on skill validation. Below is an overview of what’s new and how these changes move the platform closer to real-world assessment.

A Major Platform Update Focused on Real-World Skills

This release marks one of the most important milestones in the evolution of our platform. It goes far beyond routine maintenance and introduces meaningful changes that expand role coverage, increase the depth of assessments, and significantly strengthen the technical backbone of the system. The overarching goal remains unchanged: to help organizations evaluate candidates more accurately while giving candidates an experience that truly reflects real-life professional challenges.

New Profiles, Categories, and Massive Content Expansion

The update introduces a broad set of new professional profiles aligned with current and emerging IT specializations. Alongside these roles, we added 27 new categories and approximately 64,000 brand-new questions, dramatically increasing the precision and flexibility of assessments. This expansion allows hiring teams to tailor evaluations much more closely to actual job requirements, whether they are looking for specialists in cloud-native infrastructure, security, game development, or advanced computing paradigms.

Azure Practical Labs and Deeper Technical Validation

A key innovation in this update is the introduction of Azure practical labs, which represent a clear shift toward validating practical skills rather than theoretical knowledge alone. Each lab creates a simple cloud environment where candidates must perform real administrative or security-related actions on cloud-based machines in order to answer questions correctly. The platform evaluates the results automatically, combining realism with scalability. The first release includes labs for Windows 11, Debian 12, and Ubuntu Server 2024 in both administration and security variants, with future plans already in place for Windows Server, Active Directory, and database-focused labs. Additionally, programming tasks now support C# and Scala, further aligning assessments with modern development stacks.

Better Usability, Stronger Infrastructure, and Continuous Refinement

Beyond content, the update delivers meaningful improvements to usability and performance. Categorization tasks now support both drag-and-drop and point-and-click interactions, making them comfortable to use even on small screens. The entire platform has also been migrated to Microsoft Azure, providing higher reliability, improved security, better performance, and a simpler update process. On top of that, numerous existing questions were refined based on customer and candidate feedback, several performance optimizations were introduced, and a number of minor bugs were resolved. Together, these changes create a faster, more stable, and more future-proof platform ready for the next phase of growth.

We would like to sincerely thank all our customers and candidates for their trust, feedback, and continued support. Your insights directly influence how the platform evolves, helping us build better tools for real-world skill assessment. This update is another step forward, and we are excited to continue developing new features, practical labs, and improvements together with our community.
